Description
Albumen carte-de-visite photograph (1860s) of the 7th Earl of Stamford. Grey is depicted in fullfigure standing, holding his top hat in his right hand and his umbrella in his left. Photographed by John Jabez Edwin Mayall (1813-1901), the first photographer who published cartes-de-visite for the Royal family, active in London from 1852 and in Brighton from the mid- 1860s. Marked on the back “Mayall London Brighton”.
