Questo volume contiene il primo concreto effetto dell'incontro tra Peano e Russell al Congresso Internazionale di Filosofia tenutosi a Parigi nell'agosto del 1900. Ben noto è l'effetto che Peano fece a Russell, il quale si fece dare dal matematico torinese tutte le sue opere e si ritirò a Fernhurst per studiare ciò che lui e i suoi discepoli avevano scritto. In autunno Russeell inviò a Peano il manoscritto dal titolo "SUR LA LOGIQUE DES RELATIONS AVEC DES APPLICATIONS A LA THEORIE DES SERIES", poi pubblicato in questo volume della rivista alle pagine 116-148.
